Feedback of draft products

 After creating a draft design of the digipaks, I pitched them to the rest of my group and was given feedback of what to change and improve on.

Feedback on my digipak product:

Is the genre clear:

The grafiti and colour scheme indicates that the genre is clearly pop rock

Is the star image clear:

The star image could be hinted more to sell the girl band, especially Lottie the lead singer. All the faces should be seen however use a photo where Lottie is shown as the singer in the middle front center focus of the image. The band name 'The Michelles' needs to be clearly seen to sell their bands name. One issue with the photo is that the drummer looks like the lead singer, so I need a different composition of the band.

What works:

Theres a correlation between images from the social media and the digipak. There's pictures from the music video which also works well. 

My group particularly liked the grafiti design and the black and white theme of images. This can be similar to the social media and have a continuous black, white and pink theme.

What needs to be developed:

Make sure all the images fit according to shoot and colour. For example the outside of the album could use images from the photoshoot in black and white, and when you open up the album, the images from the music video are viewed and in colour, however still include lots of blacks and pinks.

I also need to include imagery of the teddy bears, this could either be created on my laptop or a photo of the teddys.

Another suggestion was that the whole outside, from front to back could be one photo of the whole band members, this image would continue onto the spine and the back cover.

Feedback on the social media product:

Bashy and Tegan are in charge of creating the social media platforms for this campaign. Here is our feedback on their Twitter and Instagram platforms which they made to promote the bands campaign. 

The social media accounts is currently introducing the band and their members, by slowly hinting at the themes and styles of pink. So far the instagram account consists of a few introduction posts, an advert for one of their live shows, behind the scenes pictures from the set, announcements and fun lifestyle images. 

Is the genre clear:

The genre is slowly being hinted as they edge towards releasing the album drop which will reveal their genre and star image. However the pink and black grafiti hints a girl band, possibly pop and not so much rock. It's clearly a girl band as the images introduce each one and we see their unual outfit choice which would'nt be considered basic.

Is the star image clear:

It still needs work, but we can gather that it's a girl band, mainly pop but the costume choice in the images hint at the rock side. The themes are mainly pink however the grafiti adds edge to it. 

What works:

The posts where they are promoting their own concerts and upcoming events work well as it drives attention and activity towards their account. We see snippets and sneak peeks of them performing as a band which also works well. 

Teasers of the music video are portrayed in order to get hype for the drop of the album and music video. 

What needs to be developed:

I think that the social media should be similar to the album artwork because they use the same images, the colour scheme of black&white and pinks should be the only colours on their page, this makes it clear of the styles and colours. 

The insagram needs to hint at the genre and themes more obviously and keep to a colour scheme.

Feedback on the music video product:

After seeing a short section of the musoc video which has been edited by Adrianna so far, it gives us an idea of how the outcome will look and also to see if the shots all flow together.
